A Brief Review Of The Motorola MH230R 23-Mile Range 22-Channel FRS/GMRS Two-Way Radio

There will come a time when you will have to find some way to keep in touch with a group of people that are spread out in various directions. The point is that these radios are genuinely useful and can actually be a real time saver.

Each year, all the males in our family go on a fishing trip to Lake Champlain. There are usually 10 to 20 of us and we normally bring 5 to 8 boats. One of the chiefproblems we always had was getting everyone back for lunch or dinner because we all like to eat at the same time. Often when we couldn't find someone, we would hop in our boats and go looking for them, sometimes for several hours.

Then one year, I decided that I would buy a few walkie talkies and put them in the boats. During my search I came across the Motorola two way radios and paid for 4 of them to find out how they worked. And it was the best thing I ever did. As the Motorola radios have a range of 23 miles, we were able to keep in touch with every boat that had one of the radios in it. Because these radios worked very well, as soon as we got home I went out and bought more so we would have enough for each boat that we brought with us. And of course wouldn't you know it the next year my uncle's boat wouldn't start out on the lake, and he was a few miles away. My uncle got on the radio and the first thing he did was thank me for getting the radios and then told me that his boat wouldn't start. So we went out and towed him and his boat back to the house. Without the Motorola radios he would have had to use a single oar to get his sort of huge bass boat back to camp.

Buying these two-way radios one of the best purchases I have ever made in my life. Something else I love is that these Motorola radios can be recharged so you don't have to bring a lot of batteries with you when you use them. You can even keep track of the weather with the weather band that these Motoroal radios come with.
And the uses of these radios are virtually endless. Just last year, my mother took all her grandkids to Disney and asked to borrow the radios. Her fear was that one of the grandkids would end up wandering off and getting lost. Luckily these two-way radios didn't have to be used for a lost child, but all the children still had a terrific time using them as regular walkie talkies.
Another thing that we use these two-way radios for is when we go out hunting as we cover 186 acres when we hunt and it is a fantastic way for people to tell the other people in the group if they are leaving the woods. You have no idea what a time saver this can be unless you have ever been walking around the woods trying to search for somebody you can't find, merely because they got cold and decided to go home.
You can even get headsets for these Motorola radios for even simpler use. And as these are 22 channel radios and have 121 privacy codes you don't have to worry about other people with the same Motorola radio interfering with your radios.
Right now you can even purchase a pair of these radios through Amazon for roughly $40, which is a lot less than what I paid for ours.

While I have only shared a couple of different ways that we have used the radios, I am sure you can think of a lot more ways that you could put these two-way radios to use.
